In 2023, Laura became the third successive generation in her family to practise law. She graduated from Queen’s Law School, having co-founded the Queen’s Family Law Club. A memorable part of Laura’s law school education was working in the Kingston Family Law Court, where she would meet regularly with judges before and after hearings. This gave Laura a unique window into the judicial mind set before she even became a lawyer. Laura’s final paper for Family Law was an analysis of recent trends in reported cases involving alleged parental alienation in Ontario. Laura’s past year of articling exposed her to a wide range of family law issues, child-related and financial plus court at the trial level and appeals.

Thorough knowledge of the facts of the case; how the law applies to those facts plus meticulous preparation is what makes Laura a skilled advocate.

In her spare time, Laura enjoys concocting exotic delicacies and is considered (by family, anyways) to be somewhat of a talented chef. When she isn’t whipping up dishes, Laura can be found scouring reruns of Curb Your Enthusiasm, alongside her beloved Yorkshire Terrier Teeky.
