Julia Belton
Julia was called to the bar in 2024 after having completed a judicial clerkship at the Federal Court where she worked alongside a judge primarily on immigration and refugee law matters. Since her clerkship, Julia has practiced exclusively in family law, having worked at another downtown Toronto firm before joining the Niman Mamo LLP team.
Julia’s practice includes all areas of family law. She recognizes that family law is an inherently personal and emotional area of law and she is committed to adopting a compassionate and people-centred approach. Julia is happy to assist clients with their legal matters in both French and English, and can also speak with clients in Spanish.
Julia graduated magna cum laude from the French Common Law (JD) program at the University of Ottawa. During law school, she completed a bilingual internship at the University of Ottawa’s Community Legal Clinic, where she offered legal assistance to community members in need of family law services.
Before her law studies, Julia obtained a Bachelor’s degree (with great distinction) in Psychology with a Minor in French at the University of Windsor.
Outside of work, Julia is an avid theatre lover, and enjoys being active whether by playing soccer or volleyball, sailing, or doing yoga. Julia is a proud cat mom to an energetic and loving tuxedo cat, and is guilty of showing pictures to whomever is interested.
