Hayley Cairns

Hayley Cairns is a partner at Niman Mamo LLP with a practice focused on complex family law matters. Hayley has extensive trial and litigation experience, having been mentored closely by Harold Niman throughout her career.

Hayley has an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University which gives her the ability to manage and understand complex financial matters. She regularly represents clients in cases involving significant assets, unique income structures, business interests, property division, and support. Hayley has also acted for clients in many high conflict parenting cases including cases involving mobility and parental alienation. She has experience litigating at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Court of Appeal, and resolving matters through negotiation, mediation and arbitration. In addition to her litigation practice, Hayley has presented at various professional development programs and is an associate editor of Harold Niman’s textbook: Evidence in Family Law.

Known as a fierce and highly engaged advocate, Hayley brings a strategic, practical approach to her files. She is comfortable with complexity and conflict but believes effective advocacy is about more than being aggressive. Her focus is on understanding what matters most to her clients, identifying the issues that will actually drive the outcome, and developing a clear strategy to achieve it. Hayley’s clients value her direct advice, responsiveness and ability to make difficult situations feel manageable.

Outside of law, Hayley is a mom of two and a lifelong “horse girl”. Hayley is ambitious, disciplined and not particularly interested in doing anything halfway.
