416-324-5522 ext. 221

Aliya has practiced almost exclusively in the area of family law since her admission to the Ontario bar. She has both independently managed and assisted with family law litigation files at all levels of Court, including the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Prior to joining Niman Mamo LLP, Aliya articled and worked at a full-service law firm. As such, she was exposed to many different areas of law, including business and corporate, employment, personal injury, wills and estates, estate planning, and real estate. Her broad legal knowledge base is an invaluable asset to her family law practice.

Aliya understands the importance as well as the benefits of alternative dispute resolution, including negotiation and mediation. She obtained her Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution through Western Law, where she also obtained her Juris Doctor (JD). Aliya went on to co-lead the Alternative Dispute Resolution program, assisting other law students in obtaining their certification. She often encourages negotiation and/or mediation where appropriate and has both independently led and assisted with resolution meetings and mediations.

Aliya appreciates that every situation is unique and therefore strives to tailor her approach to her clients’ individual needs.

Outside of work, Aliya spends her time walking and hiking with her dog, Suki and lounging with her two cats, Charlie and Rocky.
