Candace Santaguida
Candace joined the Niman Mamo team as an associate in 2022. Her practice is restricted solely to family law. Candace is a dedicated and innovative litigator whose resolution-focused approach allows her to effectively advocate for her clients and their ever-evolving needs with compassion and diligence.
Prior to joining the firm, Candace articled and practiced at a mid-size firm in Toronto known for insurance defence and civil litigation groups. She gained extensive litigation experience, having successfully appeared at various levels of the Ontario courts and administrative tribunals as well as participated in different methods of dispute resolution, such as mediation and arbitration.
Candace obtained a Bachelor of Science (Honours) from the University of Toronto in 2014 and completed the Dual J.D. program at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy, earning both a Canadian and American law degree in 2018. During law school, Candace served as a Student Advisor for the Career Services Office, acted as Peer Mentor to the study body at large, and was a Teaching Assistant in the area of Property Law. In 2016, she acted as a volunteer for the class action claim regarding the Flint, Michigan water contamination crisis. Candace received the Alvin D. From Memorial Scholarship in Civil Procedure as well as the Faculty of Law, Canadian and American Dual J.D. Program Award in recognition of her academic achievements.
When she is not flexing her gift of gab at the office, Candace is an avid baker who has spent years perfecting her cream cheese frosting. If she is not flour-deep in a cupcake recipe, you can find her curled on the couch with a new novel or being dragged to new parks by her bully pup, Monroe.
